Make a Difference in Our Community!
At LHOI, we believe that everyone has the power to make a positive impact. Volunteering with us is a meaningful way to contribute to our community and help individuals and families in need. Whether you're looking to give back a few hours a week or participate in a longer-term commitment, there are a variety of ways you can get involved and make a difference.
Food Pantry (Thursdays and Saturdays):
Help us organize, sort, and distribute food to families in need. Volunteers are needed to assist with food pantry operations, ensuring our clients receive nutritious options in a timely and respectful manner.
Clothing Closet Sorting & Hanging (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays)
Help keep our clothing closet organized and ready for distribution. Volunteers will assist with sorting donations, hanging clothes, and ensuring that the closet remains stocked with gently used clothing for individuals and families.
Youth Enrichment (Monday - Friday 4 - 6 p.m)
Volunteer with our amazing students grades K - 5th and support them with homework, reading, or engaging in fun, educational activities in an after school setting.
Summer Camp (June - July)
Join us during the summer to work with kids in a fun, educational environment. As a summer camp volunteer, you'll assist with various activities, support the campers, and help create a memorable summer experience.
Cafe HOPE (Quarterly)
Help create a warm, welcoming experience by serving meals, setting tables, and engaging with guests in a restaurant-style setting that fosters dignity and connection.
Grow Garden (Spring - Fall; Monday - Saturday)
Volunteers in the Community Garden assist with planting, maintaining, and harvesting fruits, vegetables, and flowers. They help ensure that the garden thrives by participating in tasks like weeding, watering, and composting. Volunteers also work to create a sustainable, healthy environment for the community by providing fresh produce to those in need and fostering a sense of connection and pride among local residents.
Interested in Volunteering?
Join us in making a difference right here in our community. Whether you have a few hours a week or just want to lend a hand at special events, your time and talents can help us support children, seniors, and families in meaningful ways. Volunteering at LHOI is more than service—it’s an opportunity to build relationships, strengthen neighborhoods, and be part of something bigger.
