Rent & Utility Assistance
For residents of Hamilton County in need of financial assistance.
The Rent & Utility Assistance Program provides funding to those who reside in Hamilton County who are at risk of becoming homeless. This program helps individuals and families who may become homeless soon because they lost income or had another eligible emergency that prevents them from paying rent or utilities.
Helping Our Community with Rent & Utilities Assistance
At LHOI, we understand that unexpected financial challenges can create stress and uncertainty. Our Rent & Utilities Assistance Program is here to help families and individuals in Hamilton County maintain stable housing and essential services during difficult times.
Through this program, we provide support with rent payments and utility bills, helping to prevent eviction and utility shutoffs. We assist eligible individuals and families by offering financial aid to cover part or all of their rent or utility costs, depending on the available funds and specific needs.
Eligible participants may receive up to $500 in assistance for utilities OR in assistance for rent/mortgage.
To apply for assistance, applicants must complete a simple application process, which includes providing documentation of their financial situation and proof of need. Our team is committed to working with you to find the best solution and to offer guidance through the process.
Assistance is based on various factors, including income level, household size, current financial hardship, and available funding. We encourage anyone in need to apply or reach out and inquire about how we can help.
To be eligible for the Rent & Utility Assistance Program, please note the following:
-
Applicants must not have received financial assistance from this program within the last 12 months (ex: if you received $300 for utility assistance in April 2025, you would not be eligible to receive assistance again until May 2026 - for utilities or rent).
-
If applying for utility assistance, applicants must not currently be enrolled in the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP).
